I know we’ve all started planning for Thanksgiving and Christmas,
and most Halloween projects have already been forgotten.
But I’ve got a major crafting confession that I just felt couldn’t be ignored.
After helping dozens of you make your own adorable costumes with
the My Little Pony Sew-along, I wanted you all to know…
I didn’t finish my own kid’s costumes until one hour before sunset on Oct. 31st.
Yep, you read that right. This is procrastination at it’s finest!
I was working right up to the last minute putting the finishing touches on Spike and Twilight Sparkle.
I obviously wasn’t busy typing up blog posts, so what took me so long to finish?
Well, during the month of October I was completely swamped making –
3 Spike pants, and a one-piece Spike costume for everyone other than Corbin and Aurelia.
If you made 1, 2, or even 3 ponies for you own kids, you’ll understand the amount of sewing involved!
By the time I was finished, I felt like I had made a costume for half the kids in town,
but luckily my own didn’t notice or care that their outfits had become a last minute scramble.
Ha, I’m pretty sure all they cared about was the candy!
It doesn’t even matter that I started the planning and cutting out way back in August.
I still ended up waiting til the last minute. Happens every time!
How about you? Any other procrastinators out there?
They both look awesome!
Thanks Samantha! What was B this year? I remember seeing his pumpkin shirt, but I think I missed his costume.
I finished my kids' the day before Halloween but that was only because we had a party to go to that night. Haha… You did such an amazing job and definitely had a good excuse! You have been busy!
Thanks Alexis! You're daughter's mermaid costume was adorable, but I would have loved to see you as Ursula! I didn't get to make my costume either, so maybe next year we should make the adult costumes first since we know we'll just end up throwing the kids together at the last minute anyway. 😉
Do you sell these? I'm not a sewer but love these and that's of course what the kids want to be this year. I love the functionality of them that they can be worn all year!
Do you sell these? Love these but can't sew :(. If so how much would you charge?
Hi there! You can find both costumes in my Etsy shop. – https://www.etsy.com/shop/SugarTartCrafts?ref=hdr_shop_menu
