My Favorite Projects of 2012

Wednesday, January 2, 2013

This past year was quite ...interesting... to say the least. I definitely didn't get as many things finished as I would have liked, but I'm pretty sure that's the way it always goes. I could have finished hundreds of projects, and my to do list would still probably be longer than when I started. Such is the life of a crafter.
But here are some of my favorites from the past year.

washer pattern weights

The washer weights were by far the most popular with all of you, and I absolutely LOVE not having to pin my patterns all the time! Plus I'm pretty sure my husband likes these too since the chance of him stepping on a stray pin has dropped considerably!

Of course I love sewing for little girls, and these are just a few of the pieces I whipped up for Aurelia this year.
"Lettuce" Play Skirt - Pink Peasant DressSadie Top - Dandelion Dolman - Butterfly Playdate Dress
These outfits turned out to be some of the cutest things I've ever sewn, but the Sadie is probably my favorite!

2012 also brought with it a healthy dose of nostalgia due to my daughter's new fixation with My Little Ponies.
I can't explain their charm, but I think I enjoy the cartoon just as much as Reli does. Hopefully this is one obsession she will stick with for awhile because I've got plenty more pony related projects I'd love to make.

The major focus for my projects though was definitely the new baby. Nesting had me quite busy making peanut swaddlersdribble bibs, kimonos, boppy covers, hats, burp cloths, changing pad covershooded towels, ring slings, nursing covers, and dyed onesies. Plenty to keep a momma busy during those long nine months.

Chubby baby

But my absolute personal favorite project from last year has to be the chunky man himself!
He may not have been the easiest thing to make, but Corbin was definitely the cutest!

What project are you most proud of from last year?
Was there anything that you didn't get around to that you'd like to finish in 2013?

  2. You've been busy this year! I love your sewing style--very cute, but very practical. I think the little kimono top is my favorite . . . so sweet! And of course, little Corbin came out nicely, too ;-)
