just seemed a bit more user friendly. Plus they have your soap already mixed in. It's like a 2 for 1!
I used the directions linked above, but made a few changes to adjust the size, scent, and color to better suit my needs. (Of course I didn't read the directions properly, and instead of "by weight" I measured in my liquid measuring cup and added WAY too much sugar. Then I had to fiddle with everything. But, you guys are too smart to make that mistake! Right?)
6 oz. by weight clear glycerin soap
6 oz. by weight palm oil
18 oz. by weight white sugar
silicone brownie bites mold
few drops of soap coloring
essential/fragrance oil of your choice (I used Orange Spice)
Mine turned out a little on the pale side for something orange flavored, but that didn't bother me so much. Especially since Reli already helped me make things like purple vanilla and green oatmeal bath salts.
The smell is completely divine though, and I wish that I had made extra just to keep for myself!

They look great Toni! I think I would have EATEN that Neapolitan one, that looks delish.. lol, but I am sure it is great scrub. I think it is neat you could use a brownie mold!

Fun--and they look so cute packaged up!
ReplyDeleteLove these! Sadly, not close enough to a shop that would have the melt and pour to make these last minute, but will have to keep them in mind! I have made bath salts and bath bombs in the past though....
ReplyDeleteHave a wondful Christmas!

Hi Toni! I just wanted to thank you for mentioning the brownie bites mold for the sugar scrub cubes. I have been looking all over for a mold to make these. I have been using a regular soap mold from Michaels and cutting it into 4 pieces but the cubes were really big. I am going to go buy the brownie bites mold tomorrow. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks Toni for all your suggestions on where I could find additional molds for my sugar scrubs. I also wanted to say that I just love your blog. You have some really cool projects. I can't sew to save my life. Lol. I will definitely have to add you to my blog Inspiring Young Moms because I know a lot of other moms would love to learn about your projects and yummy food!
