I have no idea why I picked a fish theme for the party, but I figured there would be plenty of years to do the princesses and characters later. It wasn't anything fancy either. I've seen some amazing party set-ups in blog land, but since there were no other kids present, and I wasn't in my own house, it was a "make it work" kinda situation.
The snacks were my only extravagance, and even with just those my dad kept making funny faces and telling me that this was all to "fancy" for our family. Oh well. The ideas for the cupcakes, chip dip squid, sand dollar cookies, and hermit crabs in a blanket (no picture) all came from Pinterest.
Martha's version, not mine!
And somehow I got the kid who doesn't want to have messy fingers so this is how she ate her cupcake!
Look Ma no hands!

Those cupcakes are TOO cute!
ReplyDeleteThose cupcakes are so fun, what a great mom you are! I think parties are the best when you keep them simple! I finally got around to my purse organizer tutorial, and directed people to your blog to learn how to do the piping!

Thanks everyone! The cupcakes were my favorite part of the party, but you wouldn't believe how hard it was for me to find gumballs!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute party! I love the little cupcakes! Your fish in a jello bowl turned out so much better than ours did. I think I didn't mix in enough plain gelatin and it turned out super dark. (I don't notice the Nerds sewage at all!) Thanks for sharing :-)
ReplyDeleteCute! Your jello bowl incident sounds like something I would do ;-)
ReplyDeleteI recognized my edible octopi and thought I'd stop in. So glad I did, as I'm loving every detail of your daughter's fish/sea themed bash... adorable!
