| Please forgive this sad photo, moving has but a big dent in the decor here and I'm not quite ready to show off more than this plain door! |
Today I used this wonderful pattern from Simple Beans to make a heart garland for our door. This is one of those crafts that everyone seems to add their own twist to since it actually began with a garland from Miss Suzie here. My version alternates the small hearts of Miss Suzie with the large hearts of Miss Jenni, with a 20 chain gap in between. (15 hearts roughly 6 1/2 ft long)
The pattern was really easy to memorize and super quick to whip up. (If you don't have someone climbing all over you!) After I finished I realized that the hearts all seemed to tilt to one side. When I make another one for Tiny's door I will try slipping the last stitch of the heart into the previous chain before chaining to the next heart. Hopefully that will keep the hearts all facing forward.
Tomorrow will be my first official shopping trip by myself since the move into this apartment. I'm looking forward to trying out the new cart Ant got me to help negotiate the hassles of getting a toddler and grocery bags to the third floor from a parking lot on the wrong side of the street. Hopefully it will all go smoothly!
Remember to stop back tomorrow for more Valentine goodness.
